A revamp for the sockimals page!

The sockimals blog commitee have decided to change the way we do things here! The sockimals want to be able to showcase fav crafters and ask them questions. they want to post about there life and the things they care about. they also want there maker to have a voice too (asuch a kind thoughtful bunch) Leader Lafayette has stated that major changes are afoot. so lookout for more fun and laughter with a few serious pieces sprinkled in for good measure. slight break needed

Ive been feeling very fatiqued due to ME and neglected this blog allot. coming back with a new syle blog after a rethink as I think it need freshening up. I'll do this a soon as my sewing rush gives me time here's some pic's in the mean time . NEW ARRIVAL- Portia the Sock Piglet

Great news today! pigsy the sock pig has given birth to Portia the piglet!!! a very playful mite who likes charging head on into things (literally). Mum has been very patient whilst portia uses her as a climbing frame. As with most sockimals she is available to adopt but must go to a home that is piglet friendly ie. no butchers allowed. Muggles the sock bunny is proud to announce she has been adopted and is traveling to Aberdeen to begin a happy new life. Sockimals have also been requested in Arizona and Colorado in the US. it seems the Sockimals are travelling far and wide and may be coming to a town near you.

Maisy the sock Bunny Ballerina to head down under

Fabulous news came in today that Maisy has been adopted by a little girl in Newcastle Australia! The sockimals think its funny as the sanctuary is in Newcastle upon Tyne England. As its not too far from Sydney maisy is excited about the prospect of visiting the sydney opera house as she is a bit of a performer herself. Muggles and Pigsy are planning a leaving bash full of suprises, with bowls of jelly and lots of streamers! Meanwhile sock mama has been busy making sure she has her passport ready. The gang have heard many stories of kangaroos and koalas in Australia and hope to hear all about them from Maisy once she has arrived. Maisy has a tummy full of butterflies in nervous wait of her new family. Muggles was a little sad when she heard her sister was leaving so soon after arriving but is happy she will now have a permanent home. Maisy the Sock Bunny Ballerina arrives at the Sanctuary

Muggles and Maisy were reunited today as her sister was delivered to the adoption center. It was smiles all round as the pair had plenty to talk about. Maisy had been practising her dancing and wanted to show the other how good she had got! they were all clapping afterwards and there paws got sore. She even bought muggles a lovely bunch of flowers which made muggles rather weepy as she had never been given flowers before. Maisy hopes to be adopted somewhere there will be a good dance school so she can perfect her skills. Maisy showed her sis her stage makeup and the pair now seem to shimmer with glitter powder. Ollie got rather cross at them as they chased him round the hall trying to dust him with glitter which he thought wasnt very manly. Maisy seems to be having a snooze now in mama sock's slipper as she is tired out after being the center of attention all day!

The Dreamaid Charity is a non profit organisation which will help people in poorer countries to get their products to markets outside their normal reach. We will employ local staff and will provide the necessary internet access, computers and cameras to allow people in poorer countries to sell their artworks online.
This will enable poorer people to make more money than they can by selling within their own area and also reduce the amount they have to sell through agents (who sometimes take a very large profit).
It is not uncommon for artworks to pentuple in price from leaving the village to arriving in the nearest town. This price can again triple or more by the time it reaches a Western buyer meaning that the originator may only be seeing 7% of the purchase price. We aspire to see that figure rising to as much as 90% of a significantly higher price by using the strategy and technology available to us through Dreamaid.

The Sockimals were surfing the net yesterday when they came across an article on the telegraph online of a lady who photographed her rats with musical instruments and toys. Lafayette thought they were so wonderful he had to order one for his dorm! sadly the main rattie featured has died so all the sockimals said a prayer and vowed to enjoy life more as it can be so short. Anyhow we wish to congratulate Ellen on her work!

Muggles has word that Maisy her sister is coming to the sanctuary soon!

Hi all! well little muggles may not have been adopted yet but has been made ecstatic that her almost identical sis Maisy will be visiting soon and hopes to be adopted with Muggles! fingers crossed. News is also in that the sanctiary shall be opening its doors in the coming months to many other sockimals to help spread the love. a few places have been reserved by the adorable sock mice as many need new homes! one of which is a new breed who actually likes being with moggies! due to the extra strong catnip inside these fellas guarantee a warm welcome. watch this space. x

Meet Lafayette and Ollie oddpaws! they are two mischievious fellows whom ive no doubt you will be hearing plenty about in the future.Ollie is big on night time snacking as the mystery of the disappearing cheese was recently solved. no doubt lafayette was involved to help give him a leg up. Its time on the naughty step for them!

Dorothy leaves home

Today Dorothy the sockpuss was adopted by a lady from far shores. After a late night party, muggles, pigsy,lafayette and ollie oddpaws said goodbye to their friend at newcastle airport. *sniff sniff*. 'Dot' is going to live in the shetland islands which is a long way from the Sockimals adoption center. She promises to send pics of her and her new owner. so watch this space.
